Senate Republican Leader Greg Baca Prepared to File Lawsuit Against Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham

SANTA FE — Yesterday, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued an Executive Order to remove the constitutional rights of the people of Bernalillo County.

Senate Republican Leader, Senator Greg Baca (R-Belen), issued the following statement regarding the order:

“In response to the Governor’s egregiously unconstitutional order, we immediately began the process of preparing a legal challenge, which we plan to file soon. Sadly, this Governor would rather use our State Police to ‘stop and frisk’ law-abiding citizens than have them fully focused on finding and bringing the child killer to justice. There has never been a more justifiable reason to carry a firearm than when there is a monster roaming the streets of our communities. This attack on our right to protect ourselves and our families cannot stand and we expect a swift ruling in favor of the rights of the people of our state.”
