SANTA FE—Following Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s speech at the Democratic National Convention, Senator Greg Baca (R-Belen) has issued the following statement in response:
“Unfortunately, our Governor and the Democrat Party continue to highlight issues that undermine and completely disregard the true and immediate needs and concerns of struggling working-class New Mexicans. We are in the midst of the largest influx of drug and human trafficking in our country’s history at our open southern border with Mexico. We also are witnessing increased violence and criminal activity in our communities, a damaging economic recession due to out-of-control inflation, and our state’s continuing failure in educating our youth. These are the issues that New Mexicans, especially New Mexican mothers and families, are demanding immediate solutions to.
I had hoped our Governor would use this opportunity to bring attention to our needs; unfortunately, I was wrong.”
