Senate Republican Leader, Senator Greg Baca, Responds to State of the Union Address

SANTA FE – In response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address this evening, Senate Republican Leader, Senator Greg Baca (District 29-Bernalillo and Valencia) issued the following statement:

“Tonight, President Joe Biden addressed a struggling nation and disingenuously attempted to convince us that everything fine. But everything is not fine. New Mexico is heading in the wrong direction under President Biden and his close ally, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. Collectively, their administrations are responsible for the most pressing and challenging issues facing New Mexicans today. Crime is at an all-time high. Gas and other common goods are either unavailable or at historically high prices. Inflation is soaring and we have lost our New Mexico-led American energy independence. Even worse, our world is now on the brink of international war.”

“The weak leadership in Washington D.C., compounded by the out-of-touch leadership here in New Mexico, has created a political state that no longer works in the best interest of the people. President Biden and Governor Lujan Grisham can pontificate and pander all they want. However, the people of New Mexico see through their empty rhetoric because we are living the reality of their failed leadership every day.”

“America deserves better. New Mexico deserves better. ‘We the people’ deserve better.”
