Senate Republicans Applaud the Hiring of Charles Sallee as LFC Director

SANTA FE — After a months-long process and national search, Charles Sallee was today hired as the new Director of the Legislative Finance Committee (LFC). Mr. Sallee served as the Interim Director of the agency following the retirement of former Director David Abbey earlier this year.


Senate Republican members of the Legislative Finance Committee and Senate Finance Committee, Senator Bill Sharer (R-Farmington), Senator Steven Neville (R-Farmington), Senator Pat Woods (R-Broadview), Senator William Burt (R-Alamogordo), and Senator Crystal Diamond Brantley (R-Elephant Butte) together issued the following joint statement:


“Mr. Sallee brings the competence, experience, and leadership we have come to expect from the Director of the Legislative Finance Committee and we applaud his hiring. As appropriators, we expect the Director to help us create a budgeting process that is fair and transparent. We have full confidence that Mr. Sallee is more than qualified and prepared to execute this crucial role for the people of New Mexico.” ###
