Senator Cliff Pirtle Applauds House Passage of Senate Bill 232

Legislation will ensure timely reimbursements for medical providers

SANTA FE – Today the House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 232, sponsored by Senator Cliff Pirtle (R-Roswell), with unanimous support. The bill amends statutes regarding credentialing of health care providers and establishes a timeline by which a provider must be paid for their services.

Senator Pirtle released the following statement applauding the passage of the bill:

“I am proud to be sending a bill to the Governor’s desk that will support New Mexico’s embattled physicians. Ensuring timely provider credentialing and reimbursements will break down bureaucratic barriers that keep our doctors from being paid for services rendered. If there is one thing the Governor and I can hopefully agree on, it is incentivizing more doctors to move to New Mexico.”
